The short version: we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and you can email hello@lawnguide.co.uk at any time to have any of it deleted.

Who runs this site

The Lawn Guide is a UK editorial publication. For data protection purposes, the data controller is the operator of this site and can be contacted at hello@lawnguide.co.uk.

What data we collect

Analytics. The site uses privacy-respecting analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) which do not use cookies and do not track individual users. We see aggregate numbers like "this page got 240 visits today from the UK" but cannot identify any individual visitor.

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and nothing else. We use this only to send the monthly lawn job list. Unsubscribe via any email or by emailing us directly. The email service provider we use processes the emails on our behalf and operates under their own privacy policies.

Contact emails. If you email us, we keep the email so we can respond. We don't add you to any list.

Affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (Amazon, Awin partners, etc.) may set tracking cookies on your browser to attribute the sale. These are the retailer's cookies, not ours. Their privacy policies apply.

What we don't collect

We don't run advertising, so there are no ad-tracking cookies. We don't have a comments section, so we don't collect commenter data. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other behavioural tracking.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to access any personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, or have it transferred elsewhere. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@lawnguide.co.uk. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Data retention

Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Email correspondence is kept indefinitely unless you ask us to delete it. Analytics data is aggregated and contains no personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material about how data is handled, we'll update this page and note the date below.
